| Spanish Riding School 2005 |
| The Fall of 2005 was very special for Lipizzan owners and breeders. It was the first time in 15 years that the Spanish Riding School of Vienna toured the United States! We were blessed with 12 shows in 6 cities over a 6 week period. The hard work of Gary Lashinky and White Stallions Productions made it possible. Many of us were fortunate to see the opening show in Columbus which coincided with our annual meetings and while there we were able to learn much and attend special lectures given by the Spanish Riding School Director as well as a lecture by Chief Rider Johann Riegler. Some of us were even more fortunate to see them in other cities as well. The SWLA members who were able to go to Houston were welcomed like honored guests. | Texas Gifts! Members of the SWLA presented the riders with cowboy hats filled with thank you letters sent from all over the USA, engraved flasks given by the Mid Atlantic Lipizzan Association, Horse treats, Maple syrup, Beef Jerky, and an autographed Judith Tarr novel! Thanks to Shelley Cassada each of the 30 stallions received a gourmet carrot! The grooms were also given gifts. |
